Teenagers must be wondering a lot over the fact that there a few people who have the ability to socialize very easily. These people can strike up conversations anywhere anytime. Whereas there are others who retreat into the corners, unable to forge connects and join the flow around them. There are people who attracts friends and admirers and then there are those who can’t seem to strike up or sustain friendships. As a teen have you ever noticed that the ones who occupy the popular circuits are not necessarily the best looking, most wealthy or most jovial. They just seem to have a manner about them that attracts others.
Can you think of anyone who you would call in time of difficulty? Is there anyone who would be willing to run to help you straightaway? DO you have a group of friends you share recreational activities with? Someone you can call and pull along for a movie at the last minute? Someone to just play a game of badminton with or just someone to go on a long walk with? Do you have someone you can fight and walk off in a huff from, and just wander back the next day, as if nothing ever went wrong? If your answer to these questions is ‘NO’ you need to connect with people a lot more.
Teen magazine warns teenagers that not everyone finds it easy to strike friendships. People who have real friends happen to be the most successful in their personal relations. Their ability to make friends hints at a skill. The more social skills you have, the higher are the chances of success in your job as well as your love life.
