It is essential for teenagers to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day as a person can survive only up to a week without water whereas one can survive without food for one month. Water is crucial for a Teen’s health as body weight is about 60% water. Every system in our body depends on water. Our lungs expel 2-4 cups water each day through breathing. If your feet sweat, there goes another cup. If you make half a dozen trips to the bathroom, that’s six cups. A person would have to lose 10% to be considered dehydrated. Signs and symptoms of dehydration include: excessive thirst, fatigue, headache, dry mouth, little or no urination, muscle weakness, dizziness etc.
Advantages of drinking water is as follows:
1. Keeps our digestive system in order.
2. Natural remedy for beautiful, glowing skin.
3. Acts as a body purifier by removing toxins and waste. Skin needs water for elasticity, so too little leaves it looking dry and dull.
4. Lessens kidney stones, lessens cold and flu too.
5. Hot lemon water works wonders in a weight loss process.
6. Teenagers mistake thirst to be hunger and fatigue. Drink for energy and vitality.
7. Keeps headaches at bay and fight infections.
8. Water helps to flush out poisons.
9. Bad breath is a classic sign that you need to boost your water intake. Lack of water dries the mouth and prevents the bacteria from being washed away.

1So very true — staying well hydrated is one of the biggest things you can do for your body. Without enough h2o your body can’t function or flush out the toxins.
