Exam times could be very strenuous therefore teenagers should take proper care of their diet. It is important to remember that good nutrition is the key which is important for mental development. As the brain needs to work more our body requires more nourishment. Intake of the right diet is very essential. A teen’s brain requires several important nutrients like iron, zinc, iodine, vitamins and proteins.

Intake of water is important. Our body has 70% water. We should intake lots of fluids including juices. Breakfast could be considered as the most important meal of the day as it follows the longest period o fasting. Skipping breakfast could affect our performance due to lack of availability of nutrients. Do not leave 3-4 hours pg gap between meals. We should eat small and consume frequent meals to ensure that our blood glucose levels remain uniform.

Have a balanced meal. Include a range of good quality protein in the diet in the form of milk, eggs, yogurt, meat, fish, nuts etc. At least one- third of the diet should include fruits and vegetables. So that we get more minerals and vitamins in our body and our fibre intake should be high too. Since brain cells require essential fats try consuming fish and walnuts. Sea food is important source of iodine. Incorporate food which is rich in iron as iron is important for mental development. cereals and starchy food too is a good option to maintain high glucose levels. For relaxing our body and mind exercising is a great option.
