People with short temper are more prone to heart related diseases. Anger could be triggered by stress, lack of sleep, crash diets and insufficient water intake. Here are some simple things one can follow to control anger.
How to reduce anger?
1. Practice relaxation exercises and breathing techniques to calm the mind and body.
2. Get at least 6-8 hours of sleep, so that you don’t feel irritable.
3. Eating well at regular intervals helps to keep the energy levels in check.
4. Resolve the fight through effective communication rather than out-bursts.
5. Take a break when you feel tired as this will help you rejuvinate.
How to control aggression?
1. Firstly you need to accept that every oneĀ gets angry and it is normal.
2. You have to identify the source of your anger.
3. Rather than thinking ‘what was done to you’ concentrate on ‘what i can do’.
4. Create positive self thoughts.
5. Think of a rational and adaptive plan of action. Identify your irrational belief.
6. Write down angry thoughts.
7. Try to change the thoughts which provoke anger. Try to interpret the situation from a different point of view.
