Most teenagers might feel that they had a great first date. But what should be done next? It is quite obvious that a second date won’t occur until one of you makes the call. Traditionally, it is the guy who should call first. Mostly girls are apprehensive about calling during early stages because they don’t want to seem desperate.

The rule which applies to both guys and girls would be to have patience. It is advisable that you do not make a phone call the following morning itself. Give it a gap of one whole day and then get back to your date even if you are extremely excited. Some dating gurus would advise you to make your partner wait for three days at least. Some guys feel that it is a great idea to leave a girl wondering and hanging what would happen next. The key to success would be the right timing. Do not call your date during the busy hours of the day and do not make the mistake of sending flowers or presents immediately.

Surely you could show some amount of enthusiasm about your previous date which was perfect but be careful not to over do it. Talking about the future so soon would scare your partner away.

If you do not receive a call from your date, the worst thing which you could do is call up your date and express your anger at being rejected. It is a good idea not to express too much enthusiasm about your first date. Consider first dates as an experiment to see if the relationship will work out or not. If your date chooses not to call you back it is his way of saying no. If the call doesn’t come, then take the hint and move on.
