Have teenagers taken out time to analyze and assess where their relationship is heading? When teens feel that the spark in their relationship is declining steadily then it is time to assess the relationship. Here are some important points which teenagers need to thoroughly and truthfully analyze to know where this is all going.

Try to picture the future. Think of 5-6 months ahead and you’ll be able to figure whether that person fits into your future or not. For example if you are planning to go out for future studies or change your school for that matter do you see your guy/girl anywhere with you? Are you ready for that kind of commitment; including long distance? Would this play any role in affecting your relationship?

Effective communication: Remember that no one has the power to read anybody’s mind hence you need to communicate your feelings directly. If you are not happy with the relationship then ask your partner what’s going wrong? What does he/ she feel about the relationship?

Distance yourself for a while: The best way to find out whether you are still in love with your partner is to distance yourself from him/her for a while. If you miss them or think of them when you are away then you definitely love them. If you feel that you no longer miss them being away from them, you don’t recall those special moments spent together then it might be time to reconsider your relationship status.

Note all those things which you like about your partner and which you don’t like. What you like about that person should out-weigh what you don’t like if you are in love. If your partner makes you happy then it’s a great sign. However if he makes your life miserable and he is the reason for your depression then it is better to end the relationship. Basically your partner should make you feel more happy than sad.
